The Guardian Group in Jamaica, as a measure to celebrate academic excellence, awarded $1 million in scholarships to the top-performing students in the 2024 Primary Exit Profile examinations on August 23, 2024.
The Guardian Group’s 2024 Scholarship and Grant Awards Ceremony, held at The Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in New Kingston, awarded Aiden Cummings of Liberty Academy and Adrianna Cover of Mona Preparatory School.
The success of Aiden and Adrianna has placed them on promising paths as they prepare to start high school in September. Aiden will attend Ardenne High, while Adrianna will attend Campion College. The two were selected based on their sterling performance in the PEP examinations, which are critical for students seeking to transition from the primary to the secondary education level in Jamaica.
Their scholarships, spanning the entire five-year high school tenure, are the notifying proof of the Guardian Group Foundation’s commitment to nurturing Jamaica’s brightest young minds.
The ceremony was attended by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Education and Youth, Marsha Smith. Along with her appearance, she also commended the Guardian Group Foundation for its unwavering support for students through these generous scholarships.
“The investment which the Guardian Group is making in the education of our young people is incalculable. It not only rewards excellence in academic performance but also provides students with the much-needed financial support to continue on their path to success,” Minister Smith said.
For years, the Guardian Group Foundation has been devoted to educational causes in Jamaica, which are very instrumental in advancing the nation’s youth. This year’s awards ceremony once more lifted the lid on the achievements and the broader effects of such scholarships on the recipients.
Past awardees have gone on to distinguish themselves in many fields of endeavour and recognize that the financial and moral support which they received from the Foundation greatly contributed to their successful accomplishments.
Joining Aiden and Adrianna as scholarship awardees, several other worthy students received grants from the Guardian Group. As Aiden and Adrianna begin new chapters in their academic endeavours, Guardian Group Foundation’s support will undoubtedly pave the way.
Their stories are beacons of hope, a testament to the power of education and what corporate support means for building a better tomorrow for Jamaica’s youth.
The Guardian Group continues to be committed to education and serves as a beacon of hope and opportunity that assures that exceptional students, just like Aiden and Adrianna, could continue to reach their full potential without financial constraints.
