Haiti PM Ariel Henry replaces prosecutor seeking his interview in Prez Moïse assassination

Haiti: The chief public prosecutor who seek to interview the Haitian PM Ariel Henry against the suspicion of his involvement in the assassination of President Jovenel Moise has been fired and replaced by the Prime Minister on Tuesday.

The prosecutor earlier last week asked the Prime Minister to provide his explanation over the proofs and shed light on the matter, which shows that he talked to the key suspect – Former justice ministry – Badio twice just after two hours on the day when President Moise was executed on 7 July 2021.

The Prime Minister refused to give any statement or explanation over the matter, which spiked the political chaos and suspicion among the citizens of the island country.

After this, Claude wrote on Tuesday to the judge supervising the investigation into Moise’s slaying and asked him to charge Henry as a suspect.

He also wrote to the Haitian migration services ordering them not to let the prime minister leave the nation because of serious presumption relative to the assassination of President Moise.

The impoverished nation of the Caribbean region has been suffering political chaos for decades now. Despite political chaos, the country is battling with various other serious issues such as – extreme poverty, gang violence, COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, and the recently occurred storm and 7.2 magnitudes of an earthquake on 14 August 2021.

The devastating earthquake killed more than 2,200 people, destroying more than 53,000 buildings, including schools, churches, houses in the island country.

The presidential elections and general are postponed in the island country till the month of November by this year. While the wife of President Jovenel Moise – Martine Moise earlier had also hinted at her candidacy for the presidential elections, she was also injured in the assassination attack that took place at their residence.
