The Guyana Football Federation has announced a partnership with the Blue Water Shipping Stadium in Georgetown for the construction of a new stadium. The purpose of this stadium is to host multi-purpose events such as sports, education, and entertainment.
Thomas Bek, COO of Energy, Ports & Project at Blue Water, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, anticipating that football matches and events would bring excitement to the nation’s residents.
He mentioned that football, sports, and culture align with the values of their company, expressing the honor and anticipation of strengthening cooperation with the Grenada Football Federation beyond their current sponsorship for the Under-15 Girls League.
Guyana Football Federation has shown its desire to establish a stadium that has the ability to host prestigious events.
It is to be noted that this project is likely to serve many upcoming generations of Guyana.
Features of the Stadium include:
– Open design
– Good sightlines for the audience through diverse viewing experiences.
– Exterior terraces and stands with a panoramic view of Georgetown that will serve as critical space during event days.
– High-tech and sustainable materials throughout the building.
– Other features include a community space that could be used year-round for educational opportunities, non-profit events and other community-minded purpose.
Groundbreaking partnership:
Guyana Football Federation’s President stated that the “Blue water shipping stadium will create an impressive milestone in Guyana.”
He added that this collaboration exemplifies the pivotal role that Guyana can play in the transformation of the sporting landscape.
He noted that this collaboration with his friends at Blue Water Shipping would inspire and motivate thousands of boys and girls to participate in extracurricular activities.
Guyana’s Football Federation President also extended his gratitude to its partners for their unwavering commitment and dedication towards their goal of building a stadium.
He also extended thanks to the government of Guyana for leasing 7.3 acres of land on which the stadium would be built.
