Guyana: The Board of Industrial Training in Guyana has shared the story of one of the residents of Guyana’s region three, Raphael Joseph. His life was positively impacted due to the Board of Industrial Training’s initiatives and programmes. Guyana’s BIT offers developmental training programmes for enrolled individuals to grow and develop professionally.
As per the Board of Industrial Training, Raphael Joseph’s life was permanently changed after a chance contact with one of the Board of Industrial Training’s (BIT) officers. The officer was on a mission to urge people to take advantage of the agency’s training programmes.
The Guyana Region Three resident stated that the conversation with the BIT official made him consider the numerous opportunities that would be accessible once he completed the programme. This includes the possibility of advancing his position at Haliburton LMP. As a result, he opted to get enrolled in the agency’s Welding and Fabrication programme.
Joseph told BIT officials that his experience was extraordinary because the course lecturer did an outstanding job teaching each student at their own pace. He stated that the teaching process inspired him to work harder to attain his goals and make his lecturer proud, which he did.
Moving forward, Joseph intends to become an entrepreneur and establish a welding company where he can contribute to the country’s development by bidding on government projects, among other things.
“I want to be able to support my family on my own two feet, using a service that I am glad to have obtained through the PPP/C Administration,” he explained.
Until then, Joseph plans to pursue certification in the agency’s Heavy-Duty Equipment Operation (HDEO) and Barbering programmes.
For the time being, he has left some words of encouragement for anyone interested in the programmes offered by BIT.
“The BIT courses are essentially valuable since the knowledge and skills gained will act as a stepping stone for you to create a brighter future for yourself and your loved ones,” Raphael Joseph explained.
