Guyana: 40 job seekers registered with National Job Bank, announces Ministry of Labour

Georgetown, Guyana: The Ministry of Labour of Guyana has recently shared an update about nearly 40 job seekers from Region Six of the island country. All the candidates have now been registered with the National Job Bank of Guyana.

The update regarding the same was shared by the ministry through its official social media handle. The Labour Ministry informed, “Over 40 job seekers in Region Six registered with the National Job Bank, which is managed by the Ministry of Labour’s Central Recruitment and Manpower Agency (CRMA).”

As per the official update, the interest stems from the Regional Labour Office’s participation in the University of Guyana’s (UG) Tain Campus Open Day and Job Fair on April 28th, 2023. It was held under the theme “Advancing Local Content Priorities: Maximizing Opportunities in Berbice.”

Furthermore, it was informed to the general public that some of the batches received on-site interviews from ten companies.

The Regional Labour Office was one of numerous organizations that set up shops to help people find work. It also educates persons on Labour Laws, Cooperative and Friendly Societies, employment prospects and the National Job Bank website, training opportunities, and Occupational Health & Safety.

Representatives from the ministry’s Labour, Occupational Safety and Health, Central Recruitment and Manpower Agency (CRMA), Cooperative Societies and the Board of Industrial Training (BIT) were among the attendees of the event.

During the official launch, Labour Minister Joseph Hamilton addressed the attendees and mentioned that these initiatives would help in the reduction of unemployment challenges in the nation.

“The Board of Industrial Training and Central Recruitment and Manpower Agency will work together and collaborate because it’s not just the training, it is finding a medium to ensure that people can find a job, and that is why this job bank is important to us and the nation as it develops,” he said.

As per the official statement, no fee will be attached to the services.
