Grenada unveils calendar of events for 2024

The calendar of events of Grenada for 2024 has been unveiled. A lot of exciting events and activities are likely to be experienced by the citizens of the island nation.

Grenada’s calendar of events for 2024 has been unveiled, promising many exciting events and activities to be experienced by the citizens of the island nation.

It is to be noted that these events in Grenada will play a pivotal role in enhancing Grenada, the island nation’s tourism sector. 

Moreover, Grenada will celebrate its 50th anniversary of Independence on 7 February 2024. The spice island will mark its Independence with the theme “One People, One Journey, One Future.” Various activities and events are being held in order to celebrate and enhance the vibrant and rich cultural heritage of the nation.

One of the highlighting events of the nation will be the CARIFTA Games. The games will begin on 30th March and will continue till 1st April 2024. The 51st edition of the games will be hosted by Grenada and is scheduled to take place at the Kirani James Athletic Stadium. This event is for young athletes from all the sporting events to display their talents and skills.

The citizens and tourists will also get a chance to experience the Golden Jubilee edition of the Pan on the Sand. It will feature thrilling and electrifying performances of 7 steel bands, including Suzuki Food Fair, Pan Wizards, Pan Ossia, Co-op Bank Comancheros, etc.

In addition, Spice Island will be celebrating Pure Grenada Sailing Week, during which visitors are likely to experience exciting racing in Carriacou and Grenada.

Grenada will also host a dance that will offer a platform for Grenadian and international artists to share and increase their knowledge base of traditional and contemporary dance styles and techniques through workshops and panel discussions.

A film festival is also included in the calendar; it is a four-day festival that showcases short films and documentaries on films from the Caribbean Diaspora.

Moreover, three more big events will be held in 2024, but the dates for them have not been finalized yet. The events include ARC World, Grenada Charter Yacht Show, and Junior Murray International Schools Cricket Invitational.

Along with that, the Royal Ocean Racing Club Transatlantic Race was hosted by Spice Island from January 7 to 17. They also held Viking Explorers Transatlantic Rally from the 6th to the 22nd of January 2024.
