Dominica: PM Roosevelt Skerrit met with IMF Deputy Managing Director Bo Li
The Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Bo Li, visited the Commonwealth of Dominica during the first week of November.

Dominica: The Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Bo Li, visited the Commonwealth of Dominica during the first week of November.
In the midst of the visit, the Deputy Managing Director of IMF met with the Prime Minister of Dominica – Dr Roosevelt Skerrit and discussed a series of topics, including climate change and building a resilient and strong nation.
The Prime Minister also highlighted that both – the minister and deputy managing director discussed the ways to enhance the relationship between the nation and the International Monetary Fund.
All updates were shared by PM Roosevelt Skerrit through his social media handle. The post by the PM read, “The Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Mr Bo Li, has ended a visit to Dominica to discuss climate challenges, financing mechanisms for resilience building as well as ways to strengthen collaboration between the IMF and Dominica.”
Furthermore, PM Skerrit informed that the delegation led by the IMF managing director also visited the site of the Geothermal Power Project in the Roseau Valley, the East Coast Road Project. The visit also witnessed a tour of the Castle Bruce Emergency Shelter, the European Union and World Bank-funded housing projects in the Kalinago Territory and the Kalinago Barana Aute.
Recently while providing the update regarding the newly arrived equipment for the geothermal project, the government of Dominica anticipated that this power plant would transform many dreams into reality.
Renewable Energy Minister Dr Vince Henderson stated that the demand for power supplies has been increasing with the passage of time. Furthermore, he predicted that the demand could be easily fulfilled after the completion of the project. Vince Henderson stated, “Post completion of the project, Roseau Valley will be capable of producing enough power to supply in the foreseeable future.”
Additionally, Li also addressed the members of the media after having a healthy and fruitful discussion with the Prime Minister and cabinet members of Dominica.
