COVID-19: St Lucia reports 73 new cases & 33 recoveries

                                                    St Lucia: As of February 13, 2022, Monday, the nation reported 73 new cases of COVID-19, according to the statics shared by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs. The samples were collected between February 10 and February 12; of total samples, around 19.73 percent have tested positive for the virus.
Around 370 samples were collected on the previous day; of these, 264 were from the Ezra Long Laboratory, remaining 106 were from the Laboratory Services and Consultations Limited.
Since the pandemic began, the nation has reported around 22,121 COVID-19 cases.
According to the official data, around 33 people have been recovered from the virus and were discharged. The total number of recovered patients was 20,225.
To date, the number of active cases in the country is 1,544.
There are around 39 patients admitted to the hospital because of the virus; of these, one is critically ill, and one is severely sick, seeking treatment in intensive care.
Till now, the number of deaths reported in the nation is around 347, of which 264 are due to COVID, and 83 are COVID-related. However, the ministry of health has reported no new COVID-19 death.
In St Lucia, as many as 51,817 people have been fully vaccinated, and around 5,812 are partially vaccinated. More than 6,571 people have received the booster shot.
For now, the island country has been giving three vaccines against COVID-19, BioNTech, Pfizer vaccine; Johnson & Johnson vaccine; and Oxford, AstraZeneca vaccine. As of February 13, the number of people who received 1st Dose AstraZeneca Vaccination is 37,705, and 2nd Dose Vaccination is 34,491. Whereas, 1st Dose of Pfizer-BioNTech Vaccination is administrated by 19,723, and 17,125 people have administrated 2nd dose.
The vaccination will resume from 9 am to 4 pm at the Vigie Sports Complex and the Soufriere Hospital, on February 14.
