COVID-19: PM Philip J Pierre recovers from deadly virus

St Lucia: On Monday, February 14 2022, Prime Minister Philip J Pierre has been tested negative for COVID-19 and was released from isolation after the consultation with the medical professionals.

Prime Minister has been fully recovered, as per the medical staff monitoring him.

PM Pierre was tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus and was under isolation. He was dealing with an asymptotic infection, during his isolation period. Prime Minister continued to work for St Lucians, according to the government.

The Prime Minister has completed his vaccination and has also received the booster dose, which kept him safe from the severe infection and hospitalisation. According to the media release shared by the government of St Lucia, he was following a balanced and healthy diet and was regularly exercising during his phase of recovery.

After coming out of the isolation, the prime minister pledged to work for the health and safety of the country’s citizens and asked people to follow all COVID-19 related protocols, including wearing a face mask in public and maintaining physical distance, sanitising and avoiding going out unnecessarily.

Prime Minister further urged the public of the nation to get vaccinated as soon as possible to protect their loved ones and themselves.

PM Pierre concluded by thanking everyone for sending greeting and prayers during his period of isolation.

As of February 13, 2022, the nation reported 73 new cases of COVID-19, according to the statics shared by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs. The samples were collected between February 10 and February 12; of total samples, around 19.73 percent have tested positive for the virus.

The total number of recovered patients was 20,225. To date, the number of active cases in the country is 1,544.

In St Lucia, as many as 51,817 people have been fully vaccinated, and around 5,812 are partially vaccinated. More than 6,571 people have received the booster shot.
