Caribbean leader pours congratulatory wishes on Dr Roosevelt Skerrit for winning elections
Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, leader of the Dominica Labour Party and Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, received congratulatory messages from the leaders of the Caribbean region for securing a landslide victory in the snap general elections of 2022.

Caribbean: Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, leader of the Dominica Labour Party and Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, received congratulatory messages from the leaders of the Caribbean region for securing a landslide victory in the snap general elections of 2022. The elections were conducted on December 6, 2022, at the government schools of the nation.
Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, shared a post on social media and stated, “I extend sincerest congratulations to you on behalf of the Government of the Federation St Kitts and Nevis and the people of our twin-island Federation, on your Party’s landslide victory at the polls, winning nineteen (19) of the twenty-one (21) seats in the Commonwealth of Dominica’s recent election.”
Prime Minister Drew expressed great pleasure in extending his congratulations to Dominicans, Prime Minister Skerrit and the Dominica Labour Party on their success. He further prayed that God grants continued guidance, protection, and wisdom as they lead people and the country.
While congratulating the Dominican Prime Minister Skerrit, PM of Saint Lucia Philip J Pierre noted, “Victory for Labour in Dominica. Congratulations, Comrade Roosevelt Skerrit and Team Dominica Labour Party.”
Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Amor Mottley, also took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and shared her heartiest congratulations. She noted, “I’d like to congratulate Dr Roosevelt Skerrit and the Dominica Labour Party on their victory in General Elections. I look forward to working with you once again as we aim to make the Caribbean region a better place for all of our people!”

The Government of Grenada and Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell congratulated PM Dr Roosevelt Skerrit and his Dominica Labour Party on a historic victory in the general elections and returned to Government.
“The unprecedented sixth term victory depicts the desire of the people of Dominica for continuity, especially against the backdrop of an increasingly uncertain global environment,” PM Mitchell said.
These wishes were poured on Prime Minister Skerrit after he claimed a landslide victory in the snap general election. This year, elections were not regular, as the highest number of candidates, i.e. 45, filed their nominations on November 18, 2022. PM Roosevelt Skerrit was unopposed from his constituency, along with five other DLP leaders.
