Canine Unit, North Eastern division officers executed anti-crime exercise and seized shotgun, marijuana and arrested one male suspect.

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: The officers of the Canine Unit, along with the ranks of the North Eastern Division Task Force, seized shotgun, marijuana and arrested one man following an anti-crime exercise in various districts of the country from Friday to Sunday.
The exercise was conducted in the areas of Romain Lands, Williams Street, San Juan and Morvant in order to recover drug blocks. They received information about a firearm in the bushy open area of Romin Lands and Morvant.

Friday, April 5
The Canine Unit and North Eastern Division officials responded to the matter and PC Bibby executed a thorough search of the area, which resulted in the recovery of a black shotgun.
Further, the investigating officers- PC Borneo and K9 Nero headed towards Williams Street and San Juan near Calcutta Street. They allegedly found a bundle of marijuana, which was wrapped in a clear plastic wrap in two separate bundles.
Noting this, a marijuana weighed 212 gm. The investigation of the incidents in continued by PC Bibby. The anti-crime exercise was conducted by a group of officers on Friday and spearheaded by ACP Subero, Senior Supt (Ag.) Edwards, Supt (Ag.) Ghool, ASP (Ag.) Callender, and Inspector (Ag.) Ramsingh and co-ordinated by Sgt Martin and Supervised by W/Cpl (Ag.) Guy-King and Cpl Lavia.
Saturday, April 6
The police officers then was informed about marijuana in Fyzabad. They responded to the matter and arrived at a residence at Guapo Main Road. While searching for a home, the ranks discovered 198 grammes of marijuana. A 38-year-old man was arrested in connection to the findings.
The exercise was conducted between the hours of 4pm and 8pm in the South Western Division on Saturday.
Sunday, April 7
The officers of the Santa Cruz Criminal Investigations Department, along with charge room has reported a case of a stolen vehicle from a home in Chaguanas. They carried out a search and managed to recovered the vehicle, a silver Toyota Aqua. The further investigations of the case are ongoing.
Additionally, TTPS is implementing every possible measure to reduce the flow of criminal activities in Trinidad and Tobago. The recovery of firearms, marijuana and stolen vehicle showcased the untiring efforts of the police department to enhance the citizen’s security.
