The Republic of Korea donated USD 100,000 to the Government of Grenada as a humanitarian aid to fight against the devastating effects faced by the island nation due to Hurricane Beryl.

Grenada: The Republic of Korea donated USD 100,000 to the Government of Grenada as a humanitarian aid to fight against the devastating effects faced by the island nation due to Hurricane Beryl.
While shedding light on this donation, the Government of Grenada stated that it marks a meaningful gesture as both nations recently celebrated the 50th Anniversary of diplomatic relations. They stated that this enduring friendship and mutual respect are now further strengthened by this timely and much-needed support which the island nation needed following the destruction caused in the country due to Beryl.
The government stated that this generous contribution from the Korean Government will be directed towards immediate relief efforts in Grenada. And, this donation highlights the enhancement in diplomatic relations and mutual dedication to humanitarian principles and international cooperation between both the countries.
They also stated that this ongoing support from Korea outlines an unwavering commitment of the country to helping those in need and fostering a spirit of global solidarity.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Export Development, Joseph Andall expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Republic of Korea for their unwavering support and donation towards the betterment and enhancement of the country. He appreciated the Korean people and their government and stated that this aid will be instrumental in the recovery efforts of the country, helping to restore the lives of those people impacted by Hurricane Beryl and bring it back to normal.
He continued to say that it is a testament to the long-lasting friendship between nations. He further asserted that the Government of Grenada will ensure that the funds are utilized effectively and transparently to benefit the communities most in need.

Notably, the disastrous effects of the Beryl caused extensive damage to homes, infrastructure, resulted in disrupting several citizens of Grenada. The high winds toppled trees and power lines, tore entire roofs from houses and also blew buildings. The Beryl also made landfall on the tiny island of Grenada, wiping out much of the infrastructure, homes and agriculture sector of the island nation.
