8-year-old charred to death as fire engulfs in Westmoreland
A massive fire broke into a residence at Top Lincoln, Grange Hill, Westmoreland which charred an 8 year old to death. The incident was reported on Friday, in which the mother of the deceased kid taken into custody by the police department.

Westmoreland, Jamaica: A massive fire broke into a residence at Top Lincoln, Grange Hill, Westmoreland which charred an 8-year-old to death. The incident was reported on Friday, in which the mother of the deceased kid taken into custody by the police department.
The victim has been identified as Ramiel Richardson who was a student of Peggy Barry Primary in the parish. As per the reports shared by the officers, the victim was alone at his residence when the house caught fire.
According to the details, when the mother of the child realised about this unfortunate incident. She immediately raised an alarm and called the fire department to save her child, who was captured in a life-threatening situation.
After things were settled down, the authorities conducted a search of the premises and found the body of Richardson lying on the ground. The body was later taken to the hospital where it was pronounced dead. Subsequently, the authorities charged the mother and took her into custody.
The reason behind her apprehension is not known yet and the authorities are conducting a thorough investigation in order to find the reason behind the massive fire incident that took place in Westmoreland.
Following the devastating fire incident, several residents of Jamaica flooded the social media accounts with their condolences. Also, they took to their social media accounts and expressed their views and opinions on the incident through their comments.
One person with a Facebook handle Kaydane Clarke commented “This is my biggest fear! Almighty, my biggest fear is to lose my 2 boys to fire. I am so sorry for your loss family. It must be hard.”
Another person with a Facebook account Angella Smikle commented the following “He was in the house, she was outside, how far outside was she? You know as mothers we would be trying to rush inside to save the child, I am not judging her, but I’m just wondering, no matter what the situation was, I feel it is not easy to lose your child that way.”
“This is tragic. I pray comfort for the mother and the rest of the family at this difficult time,” wrote another user.
