Overall Caribbean Weather

Eastern Caribbean- A shear line affected the Leeward, generating partly cloudy to cloudy skies with some scattered showers. Meanwhile, a ridge was dominant across Barbados and the remainder of the region, however surface to low-level confluence triggered occasionally cloudy skies with a few brief showers across these islands. Towards daybreak, a weak shear line started to develop over Barbados and the southern Windwards, leading to an increase in shower activity. Here in Barbados at the BMS, 0.3mm of rainfall was recorded.

Further south, similar conditions were experienced across Trinidad as confluence within the ridge generated a few scattered showers. Across the Guianas, a ridge pattern was present, however surface to low-level convergence and adequate low-level moisture generated partly cloudy to cloudy skies with some scattered showers across the area.

Western Caribbean- A cold front affected the extreme northern Bahamas and parts of western Cuba, generating cloudy skies with scattered showers. Isolated thunderstorms were also observed across the extreme northern Bahamas. Meanwhile, a western Atlantic deep-layered high-pressure system was the dominant feature across the remainder of the western Caribbean. However, surface to low-level confluence generated a few scattered showers across the region.
