Avelo Airlines to launch 18 new non-stop routes, offer twice weekly to Jamaica

Avelo Airline is all set to operate its first scheduled international route this fall between Jamaica’s Sangster International Airport and Hartford’s Bradley International Airport.

St James, Jamaica: Avelo Airline is all set to operate its first scheduled international route this fall between Jamaica’s Sangster International Airport and Hartford’s Bradley International Airport.

The announcement was made by the airline on Wednesday and announced the largest expansion in the history of the company with 18 nonstop routes. With this expansion, the airline will offer its first scheduled international service to two destinations namely Montego Bay, Jamaica and Cancun, Mexico.

Avelo is the only airline that will be offering nonstop services between Montego Bay and the capital region of Connecticut. These services will begin from 16th November 2024 with operating its services on this route twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays, utilizing Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft. The airline will introduce one-way fares between MBJ and BDL, with starting price of $178.

Following the announcement of the expansion, the Tourism Minister of Jamaica, Edmund Bartlett stated that they are extremely honoured to welcome Avelo Airlines to Montego Bay with their new direct flights Hartford, Connecticut. He stated that this route is of great importance as Connecticut and the surrounding areas represent a major market for visitors to Jamaica.

The tourism minister also noted that this expansion will play a huge role in enhancing the convenience for the travellers of Jamaica and will also boost the tourism sector of the country, strengthening the cultural ties between two nations.

Minister Bartlett also congratulated Avelo Airlines for this expansion and commended them for recognizing the value of expanding their service to Jamaica. He stated that he is looking forward to a successful partnership that will benefit both the destinations.

The Founder and CEO of Avelo Airlines, Andrew Levy also shed light on this expansion of services and stated “We are proud to announce new nonstop service between Montego Bay and Hartford, Connecticut, as we introduce a new era of convenient, affordable and reliable travel in Jamaica.”

This new service will make visiting the capital region of Connecticut an easy and affordable experience for the travellers. For the same, they are looking forward to making Montego Bay’s famous beaches, as well as its vibrant energy and laid-back charm, easier than ever for Connecticut travellers to enjoy.

The CEO of Jamaica’s Sangster International Airport also expressed his excitement to welcome Avelo Airlines and stated that their new route connecting Hartford, Connecticut to Montego Bay will not only expand travel options for the passengers but will also play a huge role in strengthening their international network.
