Arima Police officers arrest three men with Cash, Cell phone & Marijuana

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: Three men were apprehended by the Arima Police officers for multiple offences. It is to be noted that the officials conducted mobile patrolling in the district during a Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force anti-crime exercise.

The suspects were identified as aged 19, 21 and 24, and they were conveyed to the Arima Police Station.

The roving exercise took place on Wednesday in the vicinity of Rose Park. During the patrolling, they noted four men standing under a tree, and in due course of time, they conducted a transaction.

It is to be added in the remarks of T&T police that one of the men handed over a sum of cash, and in return, he received a clear plastic bag from another man as soon as the suspect who handed the bag spotted the officer. He ran off from the site and escaped.

Notably, the team of officers from the Arima Charge Room was headed by Inspector Lewis and Sgt Ramai. Further, they arrested the remaining three suspects. Noting this, the investigating officers searched the suspect and recovered the following items,

– Cell phone on each suspect

– A quantity of cash

– A lighter and black scale

– Grinder and four similar packets of marijuana

Interestingly, as the three accused entered the police station, a woman official who was about to make a report identified two of them as assailants who stole her cell phone earlier.

Moreover, the woman pointed out her cell phone as one of the seized items, and she was able to unlock the device when she entered the correct passcode.

It is to be noted that the seized marijuana and all the other items were handed over to CID for further investigations. Further, the charges are eminent in this matter.

Such stances on crimes put the security of the people and the sovereignty of the nation at risk. There is a need to implement strict laws to deal with such crimes, and immediate actions should be taken for the criminals who attempt any crime in the nation.
