St John’s, Antigua and Barbuda: Antigua Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association (ABHTA) has started an initiative to protect the beaches.
“Protect Our Beaches, One Rum Cocktail at a Time,” it outlined.
This June, in honour of World Ocean Month, Mount Gay Rum invited the public to take a sip for a cause, as per the update by the Association.
Mount Gay Rum has partnered with Adoptacoastline, a vibrant non-profit organization, to help clean up our beaches by pledging to donate USD $2.00 towards Adopt a Coastline Beach Clean-up Bins in Antigua and stewarding program for every ocean-inspired cocktail that is purchased.
ABHTA asked the public to ‘Join the Cause!’
Mount Gay Rum invited all hotels, restaurants and bars to re-create and sell two of their ocean-inspired cocktails throughout the month of June and July in the helping effort to remove Marine debris and plastics, conserving the ocean one beach at a time.
The Two Ocean Inspired Cocktails are:
🍹ONE LOVE, ONE OCEAN
🍹SEAFAN AFFAIR
Recreate the ocean-inspired cocktails and keep a record of every cocktail purchased. A tally of cocktails sold should be sent to frances.attong@brydensantigua.com
For Sales on Mount Gay Rum, please contact Jose Polo at 268 – 725-0467. Specials and discounts on Mount Gay Rum are available.
“For more information on this initiative, please contact AS Bryden & Sons (Antigua) Limited – Marketing and Communications Manager – Frances Attong, frances.attong@brydensantigua.com or call (268) 462 – 1810,” it concluded, adding, “Direct donations may also be made to Adopt a Coastline.”
