The Cricket West Indies is all set to unveil the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup squad on Friday, 3rd May 2024, at 10:00 am AST. The announcement will be held by the lead selector, Dr. Desmond Haynes, and the Head Coach of West Indies Men’s White Ball, Daren Sammy.

The Windies Cricket have extended invitation to the citizens to be a part of this announcing ceremony and stated “Tune in for a LIVE Press Conference via Windies Cricket YouTube or Facebook page with presenters Lead Selector, Dr. The Most Honourable Desmond Haynes, and West Indies Men’s White Ball Head Coach, Daren Sammy.”

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will commence from 1st June, and the final will take place on 29th June. This year’s world cup is even more special for the citizens of the Caribbean nation as the six islands will be co-hosting the tournament. 

The selectors have also shared their vision of selecting those players who can contribute to the growth and development of the team, leading them towards victory. Moreover, some of the renowned players of West Indies Cricket team are currently playing Indian Premier League in India. 

The selectors have stated that the process of selection was conducted on the basis of the overall performances and consistency of the players in both international and regional tournaments. They have also added that they are planning to add a mixture of youth and experienced players who can add a perfect balance to the team. 

Moreover, the six Caribbean nations that will be hosting the ICC T20 World Cup include, 

Antigua and Barbuda: Sir Vivian Richards Stadium

St Vincent and the Grenadines: Arnos Vale Stadium 

Saint Lucia: Daren Sammy Cricket Ground 

Trinidad and Tobago: Brian Lara Cricket Academy 

Barbados: Kensington Oval 

Guyana: Providence Stadium. 

The fans and followers of West Indies Cricket have also shared their excitement about knowing the 15-player squad that will be competing for the T20 World Cup 2024. 

One player with a Facebook handle, Asha Law, commented, “I hope it is a mixed balanced team with youth and experienced players regardless of whether everyone has his part to play. Good luck, guys.”

Another user with Facebook account Carlos Trotman commented the following “So many people are going to be mad at these guysbecause some people who they think you be playing will not make the team, best of luck with whoever makes it on the team.”
