6 Caribbean countries to receive COVID-19 vaccines from United States
Officials from Washington in a statement said that there are six countries of CARICOM in the list

The shipment of Pfizers has been announced on Wednesday by the United States. This shipment of vaccines is sailing to 6 countries of the Caribbean Community. As a part of the commitment to provide “safe” and effective vaccines to major populations in the world as soon as possible to mitigate the effect of COVID-19 spread in that region.
Officials from Washington in a statement said that there are six countries of CARICOM in the list that include names of Trinidad and Tobago, the Bahamas, Antigua and Barbuda, St. Kitts-Nevis and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. They would be getting the first shipment of vaccines by the US.
According to the statement, Bahamas will be receiving 397,000 vaccine doses, Trinidad and Tobago will receive 305,370 dozes, Antigua and Barbuda will get 17,550, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, 35,100, Barbados, 70,200, St Kitts and Nevis, 11,700.
President Joe Biden said that they had been working on getting as many safe and effective vaccines to as many people globally as fast as possible. Thanks to the ability of American scientists and the resilience and loyalty of the American people, that they are in a position to help others.
Dr Carissa Etienne Directo of Pan American Health Organisation announced that deployment of 25 million doses of vaccines to slow down the spread of COVID19 pandemic in the world by United States of America 6 million doses of vaccines would be approaching 15 member countries soon. Dr Carissa Etienne said that nations cover countries located in Central and South America and most of the Caribbean region’s countries, including CARICOM member states.
Dr Etienne said that 1.5 million doses arrived as the first allocation that has been dispatched for Honduras on Sunday, June 27, 2021. The statement was given by the Director of PAHO during the COVID-19 digital briefing.
According to the President of the Caribbean Development Bank, Dr Hyginus Leon, due to the issue of supply and cost the most of the Caribbean countries have been facing the problems of the vaccine shortage like Haiti had got its first vaccine shipment since the pandemic hit it. Dr Carissa Etienne reported that the US would be given.
While addressing a meeting Director of PAHO on July 1st 2021, Dr Carissa Etienne said that the doses that US would be giving 25 million doses out of which 6 million doses would be given to the 15 members of CARICOM.
