46-year-old mother arrested with Ganja in food bowl at Prison
The 46-year-old woman, Lotoya Lynch, was nabbed with 70 grammes of suspected marijuana i.e., Ganja stashed in a food bowl on Friday at the Camp Street Prison.

Georgetown, Guyana: The 46-year-old woman, Lotoya Lynch, was nabbed with 70 grammes of suspected marijuana i.e., Ganja stashed in a food bowl on Friday at the Camp Street Prison.
An Eccles woman was busted with Ganja and subjected to a routine search when the narcotics were discovered from her while she was serving the food to her son, Kenkosie Lynch, who is an inmate.
It is to be said that an Eccles, East Bank Demerara mother is likely to spend Christmas in the confines of a jail cell. She was apprehended and will face the court sometime next week.
Notably, last week, Directors of Prisons Nicklon Elliot actively alerted the members of the public and prison officials found intriguing in smuggling contraband into the various prison facilities, who will face the full consequences of the law.
It is to be added in the remarks of the Prison Head that in spite of surveillance and monitoring at all the prison locations, it was found that multiple attempts were made by the members of the public to smuggle contraband into the various prison facilities over the past few weeks.
He further stated that this is an offence under Section 53 (1) of the Prison Act, which attracts a fine or periods of imprisonment.
It is to be noted that he warned that there would be no abate in bringing down the corrupt officers, family members and friends of inmates who are bent on breaking the law.
Many natives have shown their frustration regarding this terrible act of a woman, where one has commented, “This is one of the mothers who encourage their child to do the wrong thing, the wicked woman now you can spend time with him in jail. I hope after ur time there you come to your senses, hopefully.”
Another has stated that “not everything is love. She allows too much slackness there. Now he knows she will go way pass her limits for him. And it may continue.”
