Jammu and Kashmir, India: Under the auspices of the Department of Industry and Commerce, the Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO) took part in India Fashion Tex 2023 on Monday in the nation’s capital.
More than 200 international buyers from the US, European Union, Scandinavia, UK, Australia, Japan, Middle East, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, and other domestic buying/sourcing agents attended the three-day exhibition known as the Reverse Buyers Sellers Meet.
The J&K Pavilion was established by JKTPO with 30 exhibitors following the instructions of Principal Secretary of Industry and Commerce Prashant Goyal and under the general management of Managing Director JKTPO Khalid Jahangir.
Under the auspices of the Ministry of Textiles and the Trade and Industry Ministry, the event was put on by the Wool and Woolens Export Promotion Council (WWEPC) in collaboration with the Power Loom Development & Export Promotion Council (PDEXCIL). The festival featured a wide variety of woollen products made by Indian weavers and artisans, including household textiles, pashmina shawls or stoles, scarves, mufflers, blankets, carpets, clothes knitwear, and hosiery goods.
An exclusive fashion show, the launch of new items, and business meetings with international buyers, sourcing agents, and buying houses were all part of the event. The Pashmina and Kani shawls from J-K were the main draws of the fashion show.
JKTPO and ONDC organised an onboarding drive for Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) for the participating exhibitors from J&K during the event.
