President of Guyana Dr Irfaan Ali declares Cash grant of $25,000 each for public servants of Guyana. This is not less than a piece of good news for all public servants. This includes GuySuco workers, teachers, medical professionals and joint services.

Guyana: President of Guyana Dr Irfaan Ali declares Cash grant of $25,000 each for public servants of Guyana. This is not less than a piece of good news for all public servants. This includes GuySuco workers, teachers, medical professionals and joint services.

According to the Head of State, Over 60,000 workers and their families will profit from the investment, which will cost the Government over $2B. Public sectors like central Government, public corporations, subvention agencies, statutory bodies, government pensioners, and the University of Guyana staff.

The Head of State declared that over Teachers, Medical Professionals, and other Joint Services members also come under this category. This scheme will start when the funds are distributed to these workers to cooperate with the challenges of coronavirus pandemic. Reports say sugarcane workers suffered under the previous administration.

President says, “Those sugar workers who were unconscionably stripped of their subsistence by the APNU/AFC Government will in the New Year be equipped with transitional support as we continue to restructure the business, in keeping with the PPP/C’s promise.”

President has already declared a two-week tax free incentives for Guyana Police Force members as well as Guyana Defence Force.
