Georgetown, Guyana: The Ministry of Labour of Guyana recently shared glimpse of the workshop held for Job Readiness.

It informed that the one-day ‘Job Readiness’ Workshop provided by the Central Recruitment and Manpower Agency (CRMA), Ministry of Labour in Region Five (5) ended on a strong note.

According to the update, before the workshop concluded, the jobseekers were given the opportunity to demonstrate what they learned by role-playing representing working procedures, how to handle oneself during interviews, and other things.

Yolanda Grant, Chief Recruitment Officer, praised the participants for realizing the necessity of preparing oneself with the necessary skills and information to become employed. She also advised them to encourage other interested persons to use the CRMA’s services for gainful employment.

The CRMA is mandated to match suitably qualified persons to existing vacancies; canvass for job vacancies for possible placement for jobseekers; maintain an accurate record of notified vacancies; and provides advice, career guidance and counselling to those seeking employment.

In addition to this, more than twenty-five (25) jobseekers in Region Five (5) are now attending a one-day ‘Job Readiness’ Workshop offered by the Central Recruitment and Manpower Agency (CRMA).

The participants will be exposed to training on how to construct a résumé, personal interview skills, career coaching, and workplace practices from the employer’s perspective, among other things, as per the update.
