Georgetown, Guyana: The Minister of Labour of the Republic of Guyana has recently shared glimpse of the launch ceremony of the Occupational Safety and Health Awareness Campaign. The event was held at West Coast Berbice, Guyana.

As per the update by the ministry, the Ministry of Labour Region Five office launched its Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Awareness Campaign by placing a banner at the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) Office in Fort Wellington, West Coast Berbice on April 7, 2023.

The Labour Ministry has further outlined that this campaign aims to educate employees and employers about the importance of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) in the workplace and at home.

In addition, on Tuesday, April 11th, 2023, the regional office will hold a Safety and Health walk to celebrate OSH Month 2023 so that employees and employers can both recognize the importance of Occupational Safety and Health as an integral part of the custom and practice of a modern working environment, as per the ministry.

In addition to this, the ministry has mentioned that the regional walk is expected to include more than 25 workplaces and will begin at the National Insurance Scheme (NIS) local office in Fort Wellington West Coast Berbice and end at the RDC office.
