Barbados: Fair Trading Commission has extended Feed-in-Tariff for Renewable Energy Technologies above 1MW and up to 10 MW until June 30, 2022, or until the Commission determines new FITs with appropriate terms and conditions.

On April 4, 2022, the Fair Trading Commission stated that on March 14, 2022, the fair Trading Commission informed the general public of its proposal to extend the Feed-In-Tariff (FIT) Decision for renewable energy (RE) systems above 1MW and up to 10MW and invited comments or objections from all service providers, renewable energy producers, representatives of consumer interest groups and other parties with interest in the matter.

It then informed that the aforementioned Decision was issued on September 20, 2020, and related to RE systems above 1 MW and up to 10 MW, categorised by size and technology and sets out rates at which the generators will sell energy to the Barbados Light and Power Company Limited.

It further stated that having no objections to extension, the FIT Decision for RE systems above 1MV and up to 10MV will be extended till June 30, 2022, or until the Commission determines new Feed-in-Tariffs, with appropriate terms and conditions, whichever is earlier.

It concluded and stated that the FIT Decision could be accessed on the Commission’s website at www.ftc.gov.bb.
