St John’s, Antigua and Barbuda: The Antigua and Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association (ABHTA) is thrilled to kick off a captivating thirteen-week project leading up to Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Week 2023: “Unveiling Hospitality Professionals”.
The updates regarding the same were shared by the Association on the official social media handle. It will be an incredible journey deep into the heart of the dynamic hospitality industry, shining a spotlight on its often-unsung heroes—the dedicated individuals who breathe life and vitality into the sector.
Throughout this profound journey, Antigua and Barbuda will immerse itself in their diverse backgrounds, personal triumphs, and unwavering pursuit of excellence. Whether they started from humble beginnings or honed their craft through years of dedication, these hospitality professionals are committed to the industry’s growth.
The inaugural feature introduced Michelle Seaforth, Deputy General Manager at Mill Reef Club. Michelle’s passion for hospitality was ignited by her mother’s role as the Room Division Manager at the Jolly Beach Resort.
Michelle’s path to success was marked by resilience and the principle of “stoop to conquer,” instilled by her father. She started as a janitor after completing her studies, eventually rising to her current position, overseeing six departments in her most senior role to date.
Craig Marshall, Chairman of the ABHTA, emphasizes the importance of sharing stories like Michelle’s to inspire the next generation of Antiguan and Barbadian talent in the hospitality industry.
Over the next several weeks, the nation will unveil inspiring stories from various sectors within the vibrant hospitality industry, including hotel operations, taxi services, yachting, tours, and vendor businesses.
The Unveiling Hospitality Professionals project starts on September 12, with one inspiring narrative released each week. “Let’s come together to be inspired, moved, and enlightened as we uncover the extraordinary stories of those who’ve made hospitality their lifelong passion,” the Association mentioned through social media.
