The World Arc set on sail from Rodney Bay in a race around the globe. The information about it has been shared by the Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Dr Ernest Hilaire.
It is to be noted that the excitement and celebrations witnessed on the docks at IGY Rodney Bay Marina were on the top as their feet prepared to leave at the start of their incredible journey.
The Member of Parliament for the Castries South, Dr Ernest Hilaire, announced that World Arc is all set to start its journey around the world.
He took to his official social media handle (Facebook) to extend wishes to all the participants for their upcoming journey.
“Yesterday, World Arc set said from Rodney Bay in a race around the globe. Wishing all participants a safe journey”, remarked Minister Hilaire.
The cruise marked its journey under the clear blue skies, and a 17 kmph north-easterly wind provided perfect conditions for the start of the World Arc as 23 boats set sail from Saint Lucia to Santa Marta, Colombia, on the first leg of this ambitious round-the-world rally covering 815 nautical miles.

World ARC has also shared the list of jobs that the dock will be offering, which includes strapping down dinghies, engine checks and pre-cooking the first meal of the passage.
Moreover, at noon, the Race Committee team sounded the signal for leg 1. There was a sense of excitement and emotion for those who were on the water as boats happily joined the cheers, blowing their horns and crews cheering loudly.

World ARC, through their official FB handle, shared time-to-time updates of the journey of the rally. Recently, they shared that they had a good first night with a stunning sunset followed by a starry sky.
Noting this, happiness could be witnessed on the faces of the passengers who are sailing the course to Santa Marta. Many people who were travelling to this rally shared their experiences through their Facebook accounts.
