West Indies Cricket team gearing up for action-packed home series, Know schedule

Cricket West Indies announced the exciting and action-packed home series schedule for the Men in Maroon 2024. The West Indies players will compete against South Africa, England and Bangladesh in several Caribbean nations aiming to secure victory in their home soil.  

The home tour will commence with visit from South Africa, where both the nations will compete against each other in the T20 format from 23rd to 26th May at Sabrina Park, Jamaica. Following that, South Africa will return to the region for the 2 test match series starting from 7th August – 19th August 2024.Both the test series has been scheduled to take place in Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana respectively. 

The Men in Maroon will again play the three-match- T20I series against South Africa at Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad. The second T20 series between both nations have been scheduled to take place between 23rd August – 27th August 2024. 

After that, England will make their visit to the Caribbean Island for the white-ball series against West Indies. The series will be played across three different Caribbean nations, i.e., Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, and Saint Lucia. 

The first two ODI’s will take place in Antigua, 3rd ODI and 2 T20s will take place in the stadium of Barbados and the rest 3 T20Is will held at Saint Lucia. 

Following that, West Indies will welcome Bangladesh to the Caribbean for an all-format tour. The players will compete in the first test match at Antigua from the 22nd to the 26th of November. The 2nd test match has been scheduled to take place between 30th November – 4th December 2024 in Jamaica. 

Both the nations will later compete for 3 ODI matches that will take place from 8th December to 12th December at St. Kitts and Nevis. The players from both the countries will later face each other in the 3 T20Is format at St. Vincent. 

While unveiling the schedule, the Chief Executive of Cricket West Indies, Johnny Grave, stated that they are excited to announce our West Indies Men’s Home Series. He also expressed delight in hosting these matches in eight countries of the Caribbean island. 

He further added that they were unable to host international cricket matches at the National Stadium in Grenada and Windsor Park in Dominica despite the significant improvements and advancements made in the stadiums. 

However, the management of the Cricket team also aims to return to both venues in the following year.
