]Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: Four male suspects, all of Tunapuna, were arrested for possession of a quantity of marijuana, a camouflage cap and two communication devices during ongoing police exercises.
Noting this, an intelligence-led exercise was conducted on January 22 in the North Central Division by the officers of the Gang Unit, Guard and Emergency Branch, the Criminal Investigations Department, the Canine Branch, the Special Operations Unit and the Inter-Agency Task Force.
Moreover, this is not a new case which comes to the limelight in Tunapuna as just a few days ago, one man was fatally wounded after a shootout with police in the district, while other anti-crime exercises conducted over the past 36 hours led to the arrest of Murder.
On the same day, police from the North Central Division Task Force-West and NCD SOU proceeded to a residence located at Dookie Lane, Tunapuna, with a search warrant for Firearms and Ammunition.
Upon arrival, the suspect tried to flee from the scene, and a shooting between officers and a Tunapuna man took place. In the incident, the accused got injured and was taken to the hospital.
The investigating officers conducted a search, and they found one rifle, three magazines and a quantity of 7.62 ammunition and projectiles at the scene.

It is to be noted that Task Force officers and Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force personnel conducted multiple anti-crime exercises across the country in the past few days.
In the first exercise, officials were on a mobile patrol in the Enterprise district on January 21. During the search, they found one pistol loaded with an empty magazine at the side of the road.
On the same day, the Arima Criminal Investigations Department (CID) in the Northern Division conducted an intelligence-driven exercise. The officers intercepted a green-band maxi taxi with a male occupant.
Furthermore, the accused was not a new name to the police as he was wanted in connection with several reports of threats to kill, housebreaking with intent, false imprisonment and assault by beating and larceny from the person.
The investigations of all the incidents are ongoing.
