Both the male occupants are identified as a resident of Couva District and were arrested in relation to the gun the officials found in the vehicle.
Moreover, in the second incident, the authorities of the Southern Division Task Force conducted an anti-crime exercise at the 38-year-old man’s home.
The search warrant was executed at 3:20 pm at the Pleasantville home of the 38-year-old man.
On searching the home of that suspect, the officials found:
– One beretta pistol, which was loaded with a magazine containing 11 rounds of ammunition.
The person was arrested in connection with the loaded gun found by the officials from his house.
Thus, the investigations into the matter are ongoing by the Trinidad and Tobago officials.
Moreover, it’s just one day prior to this, Shaquille Cudjoe, a 24-year-old, was fined $30,000 for the charges of possessing one count of a revolver and two rounds of .38 ammunition.
Cudjoe is a resident of Cumaca Road, Valencia, who pleaded guilty to the offences when he was presented before Magistrate Cheron Raphael. He was fined $15,000 for each of his offences. However, he is unemployed, so he has been given six months to pay his fines.
It is to be noted that if Cudjoe fails to pay his fine, then he will be sentenced to three years hard labour in jail.
As per the information shared by the officials, the suspect was apprehended and charged on Tuesday, 19th November, by PC Baptiste of the Valencia Police Post.
The accused was arrested by the officers of the Valencia Criminal Investigations Department, Eastern Division Emergency Response Patrol and Special Patrol Unit at the corner of Tattoo Trace and Valencia Old Road.
The relevant authorities in Trinidad and Tobago are doing their best to resolve these issues and are approaching each case with the utmost diligence.
