St Lucia extends night curfew till Monday
The government of St Lucia announced the extension of the night curfew till 21 September 2021 amid the rising cases of the COVID-19 virus on the island.

St Lucia: The government of St Lucia announced the extension of the night curfew till 21 September 2021 amid the rising cases of the COVID-19 virus on the island.
According to the protocols for operating on Tuesday, 14 September 2021, there will be a curfew from 7 pm to 4 am, and all the businesses, establishments or offices will cease operations from 6 pm. The curfew hours would remain the same for Wednesday and Monday, that is, 15 September and 21 September from 7 pm to 4 am.
On Saturday the timing of the curfew will be from 4 pm to 4 am, with the businesses, establishments and other offices cease their working at 3 pm. While there will be a 24-hour curfew on Sunday, that is 19 September 2021, that will end on Monday at 4 am.
Following are the new amendments made in the protocols followed from 15 September – 21 September 2021 –
- Discontinuing the sale and Disposal of the intoxicating liquor at the bars, rum shops and restaurants.
- Selling and Disposal of intoxicating liquor from a supermarket, gas station, or wholesaler with a valid liquor license would be allowed.
- Dine-in services are suspended at restaurants and other food establishments; only take away or grab and go services would be permitted.
- Social or recreational activities would be permitted at hotels on the property during the curfew hours.
- Water sports and other water-related activities such as – water rides, boat rides, skiing etc., are suspended during the 24-hour weekend curfew, from Saturday 4 pm to Monday 4 am.
Along with the current COVID-19 health protocols, the above measures would remain in effect till 21 September 2021.
According to the statistics, so far, there are a total of 9,823 confirmed cases of the COVID-19 virus, while a total of 132 people lost their lives amid the coronavirus outbreak in the nation.
