A more profound relationship is developing between the Federal Minister of Agriculture in St Kitts and Nevis and the Southern University in Louisiana. This budding relationship created a scholarship opportunity for those interested in studying agriculture and gaining technical knowledge on the subject matter.

Samal Duggins, the Minister of Agriculture, shared his views in the latest edition of InFocus on Wednesday, 18th October 2023. He stated that Southern University has started providing scholarship opportunities for the study of agriculture, which will play a significant role in the betterment of the nation in the future.

Samal Duggins added that he is happy to note that many locals have already taken admissions in the US-based university. He is excited by the prospect of them receiving scholarships from the university. He added that he had a conversation with the Explore Master’s or Doctorate Programmes about the same.

The number of scholarships being offered to the interested candidates does not have a limit. People can apply for the scholarship anytime as the scholarships are open for all eventualities. The minister also motivated people to consider the other subjects available at the university.

He also remarked that the experts of Southern University will soon visit St Kitts and Nevis to share their knowledge and experience with the natives of the country.

He noted that the Cannabis industry would benefit the most from all this. Out of two holders of medical cannabis licenses, Southern University is a great option in the State of Louisiana.

Not only are they the leading developers of medical cannabis but also seen as one of the leaders of the medical cannabis industry.

He also added that he is looking forward to sharing his thoughts with experts from the Southern University, to bring innovation to the medical cannabis industry.

Geoffrey Hanley, the Deputy Prime Minister, visited Southern University in September 2023, which was of great benefit to scholarship candidates.

The Southern University and the Government of St Kitts and Nevis also signed a memorandum of understanding, which reduced tuition fees and provided other benefits for the students studying online as well as offline.
