SKN Dept of Agriculture invites framers to register in Farmers Judging Competition 2022

St Kitts and Nevis: The preparations for the Farmers Judging Competition 2022 have been commenced by the Department (Ministry) of Agriculture of St Kitts and Nevis.

The Department of Agriculture’s Crop Division has been inviting all the crop framers to register in the competition. According to the government, the registration process will end on 11th March 2022.

“The Crops Division of the Agriculture Department within the Ministry of Agriculture is inviting all Crop farmers to register for the 2022 Farmers Judging Competition. The Registration period runs from Monday 21st February to Friday 11th March 2022,” the SKN government stated.

Information about the rules and guidelines of the competition will be shortly announced by the St Kitts Crop Extension Officers, and the interested farmers must register with the Department of Agriculture and the District Extension Officers.

As per the information by the government of St Kitts and Nevis, the winner of the competition will be announced during the ‘World Food Day’ week celebrations in October 2022. The winner of this competition would become the ‘Crop Farmer of the Year’.

The judging is scheduled to begin at the end of the first quarter, as notified by the government.

The managing authorities have also shared the contact number of the Crop Division for the clarification of any doubt related to registration or the competition.

The government mentioned, “Farmers are asked to contact the Crop Division at 467-1831 or 467-1841 for more details.”

On the other side, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Marine Resources has been doing preparation for this year’s Annual Review and Planning Meeting on Tuesday 22nd February at 9 am.

In 2022, the Annual Review and Planning meeting will be held under the theme – “Enhancement, Innovation and Sustainability: A New Strategy for Agriculture in St. Kitts and Nevis”.
