Shan Lucien crowned Jaycees Queen Pageant after long wait of 39 years
Shan Lucien of Saint Lucia registered history by claiming the Jaycees Queen Pageant in Antigua and Barbuda after the long wait of 39 years.

                                                    Castries, Saint Lucia: Shan Lucien of Saint Lucia registered history by claiming the Jaycees Queen Pageant in Antigua and Barbuda after the long wait of 39 years. The event which is a beautiful showcase of Caribbean intelligence, beauty and talent was conducted at Carnival City, Antigua Recreation Grounds.
Shan Lucien who has also been the Carnival Queen 2024 of Saint Lucia defeated 10 other contestants to claim the title of 61st Jaycees Queen Show. She was followed by Desrie Markham from Antigua and Barbuda and Amonai Francis from Grenada, who claimed second and third positions respectively.
Shan Lucien’s entire performance was highly appreciated by all the judges and the audience. Through her charm and elegance, Shan Lucien did not only win the crown but also captured four tags, including Most True to the Theme, Best Talent, Best Modeling in Evening Wear and Best Evening Wear.
Following her victory, Shan Lucien expressed her gratitude and stated that this journey has given her a huge learning experience for both her and professional level. She added that she is extremely blessed and grateful that she could able to bring the Jaycees crown back home after the long wait of 39 years.
She also acknowledged her family, team and her fans for their constant support and love. She added that they have made her a queen long before she acquired the crown.
The Minister of Tourism of Saint Lucia, Dr Ernest Hilaire also extended congratulations to Shan Lucien and called her “A History maker.” He added that he is hoping that Shan’s victory will be a great source of inspiration to the young ladies across the country and the region.
“Help me extend warm congratulations to Shan, her chaperone and team on a job well done,” noted Tourism Minister.
Moreover, few other awards were also distributed by the authorities of the pageant. Desrie Markham of Antigua and Barbuda claimed two tags, including Best Swimsuit and Congeniality awards; Amonai Francis from Grenada claimed the Interview Award and Kaéna Rangassamy, Miss Guadeloupe captured Miss Photogenic award.
Following the successful execution of the pageant, the authorities of Miss Jaycees Queen Show took to their social media accounts and extended gratitude to all of their sponsors for their unwavering support. They extended their most sincere gratitude to their title sponsor, Antigua Cruise Port, and the other partners and sponsors who ensured last evening was a resounding success.
They also thanked Marsh and Marsh Production for executing the show and bringing their collective vision to life.
