The carnival is a showcase of Saint Lucian culture and is renowned as the largest and most significant cultural event in the country.

The event will take place from July 12 to July 19, 2023, and is expected to attract thousands of costumed participants, spectators, and a television audience. The carnival transforms the island into a massive party, filled with the sounds of drums, calypso, soca, reggae, banjos, feathers, glitter, beads, and sequins. Other highlights of the Carnival schedule include the Inter Commercial Calypso on July 6, the National Soca Monarch on July 7, and the National Calypso Finals on July 8. The National Panorama Competition on July 9 is a music extravaganza. The King and Queen of the Bands event on July 10 is a spectacular showcase of the most elaborate and impressive costumes.

The Carnival culminates in the National J’ouvert on July 17, where revelers take to the streets in the early hours of the morning, covered in mud, paint, and powder. Finally, the Parade of the Bands on July 18 is the main event, where thousands of costumed participants take to the streets, dancing and parading to the rhythm of the music. With such a diverse and exciting lineup of events, the Saint Lucia Carnival is not to be missed!
