President Ali attends trilateral meeting with Surinamese President Santokhi

Guyana: President Dr Irfaan Ali attended the trilateral meet with Surinamese President Chandrikapersad Santokhi during his tour to the 2022 International Energy Conference and Expo at Marriott Hotel.

During the meeting, he was accompanied by the Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Amor Mottley and the ministries of their Governments.

Amid this meet, President Irfaan Ali visited the pop-up duty-free area at the Umana Yana on Tuesday. He made this tour with Barbadian Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley. He was given a tour of the booths that showcased the locally made products.

“PM Mottley was also able to inspect modular homes that are being produced by DuraVilla Homes— a local company that uses lesser-known Guyanese wood species to build homes. The houses would be constructed within five days,” according to government sources.

The Barbadian Prime Minister and Guyana President has several number of engagements on day 1 of the 2022 ‘International Energy Conference and Expo Guyana’, being held at the Marriott Hotel.

President Irfaan Ali also held discussions with a visiting team from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the Marriott Hotel in Georgetown. The meet was virtually attended by Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Energy, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman. Vice President Dr Bharrat Jagdeo; Minister of Natural Resources Vickram Bharrat; Foreign Secretary Robert Persaud, and CEO of GO-INVEST, Dr Peter Ramsaroop, were the attendees of the meeting.

The visiting delegation was led by the Adeeb Al Aama, the Arab nation’s Governor of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
