The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, turned out to be the biggest cheerleader for the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in their last game at their home ground, Warner Park Stadium. He was accompanied by his wife, Diani Jimesha Prince Drew, wearing the jerseys of St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and motivating them for their victory against Antigua and Barbuda Falcons on 8th September 2024.

While sharing the selfie clicked by the Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew, he stated that “My wife and I are here at Warner Park supporting the St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots. Hoping they secure a win in this last game at home.”

While watching the game between St Kitts and Antigua, PM Terrance Drew spotted the landing of the American Airlines flight at Robert L Bradshaw International Airport from John F Kennedy International Airport. He shared glimpses of the smooth landing and called it a beautiful view from Warner Park.

“A beautiful view from Warner Park of American Airlines landing just as the St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots take their 7th wicket,” noted PM Terrance Drew.

After winning the toss, Antigua and Barbuda Falcons decided to bowl. Despite the poor start by the openers, Mikyle Louis stood firm with his confidence level and managed to score 63 runs in 36 balls, playing the knock with a massive strike rate of 175.

Appreciating his knock, the Prime Minister extended congratulations to Mikyle Louis for putting up a stunning performance. He stated that it is truly a moment of immense pride to see the homegrown player perform exceedingly well at such a high level.

The knock by Louis played a huge role in setting up the target of 154 runs for the Falcons. Although, the Falcons did stutter a little during the middle overs when Wanindu Hasaranga took 4 wickets, the team’s combined efforts managed to secure victory from the Patriots.

Till now, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots has played six matches, winning only their first game and that also against Falcons, which was played at Sir Viv Richards Stadium in Antigua and Barbuda.

That match was also attended by the Prime Minister, Dr Terrance Drew in order to support the team and cheer them out loud for their victory. Though the team wasn’t able to win the last game at their home ground, PM Terrance Drew lauded everyone’s efforts and asked them to continue to work harder to lead their team towards the second title of Caribbean Premier League.

Notably, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots have only won 1 CPL title in 2021. Also, the Windies player, Sherfane Rutherford, has also left the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots squad due to personal reasons and has decided not to play further in the 2024 Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL). The Patriots will soon come up with a replacement in the due course.
