He scored this crucial run for his team while the wickets were frequently falling from the other end. The player played the knock of 57 runs off 95 deliveries before he was snagged by the Captain of the England, Ben Stokes. In this inning, Louis smashed 4 fours and 2 sixes.
Louis was on 18 off 38 deliveries at Stumps on Day 2 and came out with an attacking mindset on the third day as he got his first fifty against England. Notably, Louis made his debut in the said series against England and scored 162 runs in total, scoring 27, 14, 21, 17, 29 and 57 with 18 fours and 3 sixes.
He received immense support from Kavem Hodge and they formed a crucial partnership of 72 runs for the fourth wicket. Their partnership led to West Indies’ fightback spirit as Hodge also played some fine shots and scored his second half-century in this series.
Despite the efforts of the West Indies, the players of the England complete the final test with 3-0 series sweep. England achieved a dominant 10 wicket victory over West Indies in the final match. The victory target set for England was 82 runs which they effortlessly surpassed, ending the game at 87-0 runs in just 7.2 overs.
However, this series turned out to be very special for few players of the West Indies as Alzarri Joseph completed his 100-test wicket by taking the wicket of England’s captain, Ben Stokes. Also, Kavem Hodge scored his first test century and Alick Athanaze scored his first half-century in this series.
Therefore, the West Indies Cricket are optimistic and they shared that this series was a valuable learning for all the players.
