Israeli airstrike in Southern Gaza: claim lives of Sixteen people

Sixteen people, half of them children, lost their lives due to an Israeli Airstrike on their houses in Khan Younis at the southern Gaza of Rafah on Thursday.

It is to be noted that the army has continued to attack targets in areas of the besieged region, where it has asked civilians to take shelter.

Meanwhile, there is no information received about whether the medicines were delivered to the region on Wednesday under the France and Qatar deal. As per the deal, the medicines were supposed to be distributed to the dozens of hostages suffering from serious illness held by the Hamas attack.

Moreover, Israel continues one of the deadliest and most destructive military operations recently after the completion of 100 days of Hamas conflict, which launched the war with an attack on October 7, 2023.

Noting this, these operations aim to eliminate the militant group that has ruled Gaza since 2007 and expel a large number of detainees.

Furthermore, this has raised tensions and concerns across the region and threatened to lighten up other conflicts.

As per the reports of the United Nations (UN), the number of Palestinians who have been killed in the war is more than 24,000. It is to be noted that the narrow coast territory consisted of a population of 2.3 million. Out of which, 85 per cent of people have fled their homes.

UN further stated that a quarter of the population is starving as they have no access to food and water.

Notably, thousands of people have obeyed Israeli evacuation orders and packed to southern Gaza, where UN-run shelters are overcrowded and vast tent camps have been built.

However, Israel has continued to attack militant targets across Gaza, and they kill women and children more often.

Dr Talaat Barhoum of Rafah’s al-Najjar Hospital confirmed the death toll from the attack in Rafah and said dozens were injured.

“They were suffering from hunger, they were dying from hunger, and now they have also been hit”, stated Mahmoud Qassim, a relative of some of those who were killed.

Moreover, the internet and mobile services in Gaza have been shut down for five days due to the war.
