Guyana: 17-year-old arrested due to possession of Ganja
The police authorities apprehended a 17-year-old with the offence of possession of Ganja in the area near Britton Street Plaisance, East Coast Demerara, Guyana, at around 23:20 hrs.

The police authorities apprehended a 17-year-old with the offence of possession of Ganja in the area near Britton Street Plaisance, East Coast Demerara, Guyana, at around 23:20 hrs.
The officials of Guyana conducted an Anti-Crime Mobile Patrol on Sunday and arrested the guilty in connection with the find.
The higher ranks observed a 17-year-old juvenile with a black plastic bag in his right hand.
As soon as the 17-year-old saw Police officers, the teen placed the bag into a nearby drain.
Moreover, the authorities picked up the bag and searched it. On searching of the bag, the officials found:
– Few quantities of leaves
– Few quantities of seeds
– Few quantities of stems which were suspected to be cannabis.
Subsequently, the suspect was arrested for the things found from him and was taken to Sparendaam Police Station.
The cannabis found in the bag was weighed and found to equal 213.3 grams.
The teen is currently in custody and is being investigated by Guyana’s officers.
Furthermore, the residents of Guyana reacted to this situation:
One person commented- What’s going with the young generations. They don’t want to have decent work, but this is just sad.
Another person commented- Why do you people encourage little kids to do wrong. This incident will encourage other kids to do the same if the police don’t put a stop to it. If the police put a stop, you people must not get on like that in comment because it saves the other things to do the right thing.
Also, one more case was reported on Sunday in Guyana as the authorities were on mobile patrol.
As soon as, the officers received the news, the police officials responded to the matter and went to Annandale Railway Embarkment, East Coast Demerara.
They met a 37-year-old businessman from Corny Street, Annandale, East Coast Demerara, who was sitting inside the car at that time.
Subsequently, a search was conducted by the officers and on searching, they found:
– A Glock pistol with four live rounds of the magazine which was found in the right side of his pants by the officials.
The authorities apprehended the suspect because of the pistol found from him and he was taken to the Vigilance Police Station along with the firearms and ammunition.
The suspect is still in custody, and an investigation into the matter is ongoing.
