Grenada’s 50th Independence celebration event calendar released
The 50th anniversary of independence of Grenada marked a great achievement in November 2023 and in connection to it, several events have been announced in the country as the mark of celebrations.

Grenada: The 50th anniversary of the independence of Grenada marked a great achievement in November 2023 and in connection to it, several events have been announced in the country as the mark of celebrations.
The Government organization of the country shared the schedule with complete venue and timings for all the events in Carriacou and Petite Martinique. Significantly, one has already been done on January 7, 2024, under the name Health Fair and Walk which took place at 12 pm and 3 pm, respectively. This followed the route from Windward to Hillsborough.
The nine events have been scheduled till April 20, 2024 as per the calendar released. A total of six events, excluding the one which has already been held, will take place in the month of January in the country.
The list of events for the month of January are as follows:
- Church Service & Family Fun Day at Petite Martinique R.C. Church at 9 am on January 14, 2024
- Relay Meet at Lauriston Mini Stadium at 10 am on January 19, 2024
- Church Service at Lauriston Mini Stadium at 9 am on January 21, 2024
- From January 22 to 26, there will be a best village competition held
- For January 30, 2024, the Petite Martinique Rally is scheduled at Petite Martinique Playing Field at 9 am.
- Minister’s Gala and Award Ceremony will take place at Cassada Bay Resort at 7 pm.
Considerably, a certain price for the ticket and the dress code for the dress has been announced for the Gala and Award ceremony as the price is $200 and the dress code is formal with black and gold colour.
Probing ahead, an event under the name Carriacou Parish Day at Hillsborough is scheduled for February 1, 2024. This is the only event which will take place in the month of February
Moreover, there are two articles which are scheduled for the month of April. These have been added to the calendar for the dates January 18 and 20, which will be held under the name Secondary Schools Debate and This is Us: Cultural Explosion & Food Fest.
All the above-mentioned events will spread the cultural magic in the region.
