St George’s, Grenada: The world has been celebrating August as ‘World Breastfeeding Month’. To celebrate the same, some of nations have been observing activities to mark Breastfeeding Week.
In the same regard, Grenada celebrated Breastfeeding Week 2023.
“Hey, there, amazing moms and dads,” Grenada Food and Nutrition Council mentioned while welcoming all the parents and guardians to the event.
It highlighted that it’s that special time of the year again – Breastfeeding Week! Let’s come together to honour and support all the incredible mothers who nourish their little ones with the purest form of love and nutrition – breast milk.
The official update shared by the organisation noted that breastfeeding is not just about food; it’s a beautiful bond that creates a strong connection between mother and child. It provides countless benefits to both baby and mom, from essential nutrients and antibodies for the baby’s healthy growth to reducing the risk of illnesses for the mom.
“Let’s use this week to spread awareness about the importance of breastfeeding, encouraging a nurturing environment where all mothers feel empowered and supported in their breastfeeding journey,” it stated while sharing the glimpse with the general public of Grenada.
It added, “Join us in celebrating the powerful and beautiful act of breastfeeding! Share your stories, experiences, and tips with the community – your knowledge could be the encouragement a fellow mom needs.”
Furthermore, the Grenada Food and Nutrition Council commented to remember breastfeeding knows no boundaries – it is natural, it is beautiful, and it is something to be celebrated. Let’s build a world where every mother feels confident and comfortable nourishing her child whenever and wherever they need it.
