Investigations in a murder case in New York last month have revealed Julio Cesar Pimentel-Soriano, as the prime suspect accused of fatally stabbing a family of four on August 31.
Pimental-Sorianon is now arrested and held under police custody at Monroe County Jail. He doesn’t have the opportunity to grant bail and authorities are looking for strict measures against him.
Sorianon is a 34-year-old resident of the Dominican Republic. He has been alleged to have used a sharp object to stab the family.
This incident was however reported to the firefighters by neighbours, who immediately arrived and discovered four dead bodies. The dead included a Fraime Ubaldo (30), Marangely Moreno-Santiago (26), Evangeline Ubaldo-Moreno (4), and Sebastian Ubaldo-Moreno (2).
The accused stabbed each victim in the neck and chest with multiple injuries reported on all of their bodies. The Assistant District Attorney Perry Duckes in regard to this stated that the situation was troubling and difficult to see and manage.
The firefighters upon questioning noted that they had reported of multiple fires at the crime site but they revealed that the bodies recovered didn’t show any signs of death from a fire incident. However, they noted it as a homicide. The authorities are also suspecting the involvement of another criminal in the incident.
The accused is reported to have entered the island of Puerto Rico, where he was able to fetch a fraudulent identity from New York. This led him to travel to New York without any difficulties.
The authorities said that the criminal is wanted as he was found guilty of involvement in a 2019 homicide in the Dominican Republic.
Following this incident, the neighbouring communities are in shock and mourning the passing of the family. Residents are also questioning the authorities for their safety while highlighting the increase in such dreadful acts.
