Roseau, Dominica: The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force (CDPF) has shot 31-year-old abductor Keyan Alexander to death with a gun, and the body of Alexandar was brought at about 3: 30 pm.
However, police stated that a 12-year-old girl had not yet been found.
The police force stated that they had intensified their search operation of the 12-year-old Kernisha Etienne based on a potential lead which has been provided by the abductor to the authorities before he died.
On June 18, 2022, while conducting a search in the Broolhill estate area, a team of police encountered Alexander armed with a cutlass which was about 3 feet long.
The Police officers mentioned that they had rushed him to the hospital, and the district media officer was summoned. At the hospital, the Alexandar has pronounced dead shortly after.
Corbette used the opportunity to call on all able-bodied people to assist the police with the search for Etienne, who was abducted from her home in Warner on June 7, 2022.
Alexander, who was a resident of Belles said to be mentally ill. He reportedly took Etienne from her home at about 11: 30 pm on the said night. After abducting the girl, Alexandar went to the home of his uncle, Laurent Joseph Bruno and wounded him by inflicting serious wounds to his head and face after attacking him with a cutlass.
The adopted parents of Etienne Misca Bruno and Laurent Joseph Bruno have remained optimistic throughout the entire ordeal that the 12-year-old is still alive.
They also spoke to journalist, Matthias Peltier, during the Hot Seat programme on Q-95 Radio earlier this week.
“What I am getting in my thoughts is that Kernisha is ok,” Mrs Bruno stated. “She is ok and she is going to come back.”
