Diani Jimesha launches Menstrual Wellness Project to empower women

Diani Jimesha Prince Drew, the wife of Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew launched “The Menstrual Wellness Project,” aimed at eradicating period poverty and promoting comprehensive menstrual health education in island nation.
The Menstrual Wellness Project is the crucial component of her visionary Joy Project. Through this initiative, the main objective of Diani Jimesha is to empower women and girls and make crucial measures for their well-being and development.
Under this initiative, all the women and girls will have access to essential menstrual products and resources, so that every female can manage their periods with dignity and comfort, regardless of their financial background.
While shedding light on her initiative, Diani Jimesha stated that she aims to tackle the frequently overlooked problem of period poverty by breaking down the barriers that have long impeded the well-being and progress of several women and girls.
Jimesha Drew talked about conducting educational workshops and community outreach programs to empower people of all ages to understand menstrual health. She ensured to break down all the stigmas in order to foster an environment where all the women can thrive.
She emphasised on bringing a change and building a community where menstrual health is understood, respected and prioritized for all to promote holistic well-being. And, with this initiative, she promises to build a future where menstrual health is recognized as the crucial aspect of the public health.
Notably, the Joy Project is a non-profit organization in St Kitts and Nevis that is dedicated to empowering, uplifting and bringing joy to the vulnerable members of society, with a special focus on women and children.
The main mission of this Joy Project is to help create a sustainable future where every individual feels valued, safe and capable of flourishing with dignity. This Project was built on the principles of creating awareness, community, sustainability and empowerment among the citizens of St Kitts and Nevis.
The authorities use outreach, advocacy, education, and community-driven initiatives with a vision to create lasting positive change and ensure that all members of the society have the support and resources they require to develop.
And, this “Menstrual Wellness Project” will play a huge role in enhancing the confidence and self-assurance of all the women and girls throughout their periods by managing their menstrual hygiene. This initiative will also help women and girl learn more about hygiene practices that can prevent infections, reduce odors and help maintain their comfort.
This initiative will also help women prevent from awkward situations and feel more at ease in public by using the proper period products and keeping good hygiene.
