Cruise Season 2024/25 opens in Dominica, authorities aim to offer memorable experience

The Ministry of Tourism of Dominica is all set to kick off highly-anticipated Cruise Season 2024/2025 from today, aiming to welcome thousands of passengers, offering an experience filled with amazing adventures, warm hospitality, and unforgettable moments.
While shedding light on the opening of the cruise season, the Ministry of Tourism asserted that they have made significant upgrades in order to welcome large number of cruises and passengers to the Nature Isle, elevating the tourism sector to greater heights.
The authorities mentioned that they have partnered with the Ministry of Public Works in order to upgrade Bayfront Road with new pavements and curbs, costing $2.7 million. The Tourism Authority focussed on improving the accessibility and overall aesthetic of the area in order to make an experience convenient and comfortable for all the visitors.
Moreover, the Tourism Ministry also invested over $600,000 in enhancing key sites, including Kalinago Barana Aute, Trafalgar Falls, Emerald Pool, and Titou Gorge. These areas have been updated through power washing, resurfacing, and vegetation management for better site visibility and maintenance.
The Ministry stated that these improvements have been made with the primary objective of ensuring an engaging experience for all tourists.
These upgrades also include an improved access to waterfalls, rehabilitation of trails for providing safer and securer path for visitors, installation of new railings, and refreshed signage for easy transmission of messages, ensuring a top-tier experience for visitors.
Also, the Ministry highlighted about the ongoing work in the form of beautiful artwork. With these artworks, the authorities aim to highlight the tourism pillars, showcasing the vibrant culture and traditions of the country, enriching the overall experience of all the visitors and fostering the rich cultural heritage of the nation.

In addition to, the Ministry of Tourism of Dominica successfully completed their “Elevate Your Service Training program.” Under which, around 187 dedicated Tourism Service Providers participated and gaining insights to new skills in communication, team building, and conflict resolution in order to get themselves prepared for welcoming visitors with an open heart and providing them an unforgettable experience.
“From Taxi Drivers, Tour Guides, Hair Braiders, and Vendors, to Park Wardens, Receptionists, and Security Officers—YOU are the heart of our Tourism Industry. Your warmth, friendliness, and authenticity are what truly set Dominica apart.”
The authorities highlighted that all these significant updates and measures are being taken by them in order to reach their goal of welcoming around 1 million cruise passengers by 2030. They also expressed their determination to make every possible effort to promote sustainable tourism in the country.
