Credentials presented to Antigua and Barbuda by Ambassador of Kingdom of Norway- Beate Stirø
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Trade of Antigua and Barbuda, E. P. Chet Greene, on 30th May 2022 (Monday), welcomed Beate Stirø, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Antigua and Barbuda, after the formal presentation of her Letters of Credence to Sir Clare Roberts KCN QC, Governor-General’s Deputy.

Antigua and Barbuda: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Trade of Antigua and Barbuda, E. P. Chet Greene, on 30th May 2022 (Monday), welcomed Beate Stirø, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Antigua and Barbuda, after the formal presentation of her Letters of Credence to Sir Clare Roberts KCN QC, Governor-General’s Deputy.
During the courtesy call, Minister Greene proposed initiatives to strengthen the bilateral relationship between Antigua and Barbuda and the Kingdom of Norway through education, research and development, and people to people exchange, particularly within the Blue Economy sector.
He elaborated that these areas are of particular interest due to the number of regional multilateral engagements made by the Government of Norway, as well as their strident advocacy to combat climate change and the sustainable use of marine resources.
Ambassador Stirø, in her remarks, commended the Government of Antigua and Barbuda for its management of the Covid-19 pandemic and indicated that she looks forward to strengthening the partnership between both nations.
During her visit, Ambassador Stirø also paid a courtesy call to the Honourable Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, and other senior officials of the Government of Antigua and Barbuda.
Antigua and Barbuda and the Kingdom of Norway established diplomatic relations on 14th October 1985. They collaborated extensively during the 2019 ‘Play it Out’ concert, which helped raise global awareness against plastic pollution.
