Citizens of St Kitts and Nevis should get vaccinated: Ministry of Health

Update on the present COVID-19 situation. In last week St Kitts and Nevis have been reported 22 additional cases, and all reported cases are from within the country. All the reported cases have been isolated.

With these cases reported in the past week have taken the total numbers of the confirmed cases to 209, out of which 195 are of St Kitts, and 14 cases are for Nevis. 64 active cases have been recovered successfully, and no case of death due to COVID-19 have been reported till present.

The contact tracing exercise has been vigorously conducting by the Ministry of Health, which was started on May,19th 2021. After the effective results of this exercise, the network is supposed to widen to find all contacts, and the main aim of this exercise is to break the chain of transmission and to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The Ministry of Health has urged the citizens to follow the COVID-19 guidelines strictly to stop the spread of the virus.

These guidelines include in them the activities like wearing a mask to cover the nose and mouth, washing the hands properly and maintain proper hygiene, the physical distance of at least 6 feet should also be followed, especially in public places, and all citizens should try to avoid crowds.

Ministry of Health has mentioned the AstraZeneca Oxford COVID-19 vaccine to be their primary weapon in fighting against the virus, and they request them to come forward and get vaccinated. By getting vaccinated, they would not only protecting themselves but those who cannot be vaccinated that include children in this category.

The Ministry of Health has been telling its citizens the benefits and better effects of the AstraZeneca Oxford vaccine. So they all should grab this opportunity and get vaccinated. The citizens can make access to the COVID-19 vaccine at any health center in St. Kitts.
