Cayman Island government to bring back citizens on special flights from the UK
The Cayman Island government and UK are starting flights to bring back their citizens

Cayman:The government Cayman Island approved passenger flights to bring the citizens back to the country. The government is working with British Airways to ensure a regular flight schedule that will fly to the UK.
Cayman government stated that these flights cannot be categorized in commercial programs, and airline’s capacity is kept limited. A flight is scheduled to fly from London and land in Cayman on 2 June 2021.
The proposed dates for inbound flights from the UK those have a route from London-Heathrow to Grand Cayman 16 and 30 June,14 and 28 July,11 and 25 August,8 and 22 September. Scheduled dates for outbound flights from Grand Cayman to London-Heathrow 17 June,1, 15 and 29 July,12 and 26 August,9 and 23 September
Travel Cayman also said in a release on Tuesday that many airlines like British Airways have been taking bookings and advertising for the bookings for the flight that the Cayman Islands does not approve.
Kenneth Bryan, the Tourism Minister, said he is sympathetic to the ongoing situation. “We understand the frustrations that travellers must face when it comes to ghost flights, particularly parents of students returning from the UK,” he said.
He reassured that the Cayman Island government is in regular discussions with British Airways on repatriation flights and aim to give as much notice as possible prior to flight departures. He urged the public to check official government channels before making reservations, as the department has not approved any British Airways advertised flights.
