Catherine Edouard wins 2024 Miss Universe Martinique title, to represent island at Miss Universe after 40 years

The title of the 2024 Miss Universe Martinique has been awarded to Catherine Edouard during the finale, that was held on Friday at the Grand Carbet Du Parc Culturel Aimé Césaire. With this win, Catherine Edouard will make history as Martinique will return to the Miss Universe pageant after 40 years.
It is to be noted that the winner competed against nine other contestants to be crowned as the Miss Universe Martinique 2024.
According to the details shared by the organizers, the winner of the title Catherine Edouard is a 25-year-old entrepreneur and hails from Fort-de-France.
After clinching the title of 2024, Catherine Edouard now has the opportunity to represent her nation on the global stage at the Miss Universe 2024 which is scheduled to be held in Mexico in November.
Significantly, this time, history will be created as the representative from Martinique will be participating in the Miss Universe after 4 decades. The last time the nation participated was in Miss Universe 1984, with Danielle Clery as the face of Martinique.
Additionaly, apart from the winner, Marie-Pierre Macambou won the position of the first runner-up while Jennifer Cafardy being the second runner-up, Axelle Lefaucheur, and Emmanuelle Henry were the third, and fourth runners-up, respectively for the 2024 Miss Universe Martinique.
Being an entrepreneur, the winner of 2024 Miss Universe Martinique, Catherine Edouard specializes in strategic communication to boost local businesses. Additionally, Edouard is a judo enthusiast committed to advocating for women’s empowerment through sports, focusing on mental health and self-defense.
Furthermore, she is also the ambassador of the association Plaisir d’Enfant, which fosters social cohesion and supports children with autism spectrum disorder.
In addition, this year at the 73rd Miss Universe Pageant approximately 130 countries and territories will compete which will have around 80 women fighting for the title in Mexico.
